A group of teenage girls may face criminal charges after a cell phone camera captured them beating a female cashier at a Wendy's restaurant in New York, MyFoxNY.com reports.
The attack, which happened Friday inside a Wendy's eatery in Queens, N.Y., was videotaped by a witness and later uploaded to the Internet. The video shows a group of teenage girls pummeling a Wendy's employee to the ground.
The employee, who declined to give her name, said the brawl began after the group started fighting and throwing food.
The employee told the website that one girl attacked her before the entire group jumped in and punched her, leaving her with a concussion. The woman said she is unable to return to work.
Two of the teens have been identified by school officials as students at Martin van Buren High School, which is a few blocks away from where the incident took place. School officials said they are working closely with the New York City Police Department to investigate the attack.
Louis Meyer, Wendy's franchise director, released a statement on the beating, saying, "This vicious attack on our female employee was shocking and uncalled for. We are cooperating with the police in their investigation and our security camera data and anything else they request will be provided to them."
