Kristen Wiig

Kristen Wiig is an American actress, comedian, writer and producer, born August 22, 1973, in Canandaigua, New York, USA. Best known for her sharp comic timing and memorable characters, Wiig became one of Hollywood’s most recognisable comedy stars after breaking through on Saturday Night Live. Wiig joined the cast of Saturday Night Live in 2005 and quickly became a standout performer, creating a string of popular characters during her seven seasons on the show. Her success on television led to increasingly prominent film roles, including appearances in Knocked Up, Adventureland and Paul. Her biggest movie breakthrough came with Bridesmaids (2011), which Wiig co-wrote and starred in as Annie Walker. The hugely successful comedy earned Wiig and co-writer Annie Mumolo an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay and established her as both a leading actress and screenwriter. Wiig has since appeared across comedy, drama and major studio productions, with credits including The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Skeleton Twins, Ghostbusters, Downsizing, Wonder Woman 1984 and the Despicable Me franchise.
