Luke Evans

Luke Evans is a Welsh actor and singer, born April 15, 1979, in Pontypool, Wales. After beginning his career on the stage, Evans successfully moved into film and became known for roles spanning fantasy, action, drama and major Hollywood franchises. Evans made his feature-film breakthrough playing Apollo in Clash of the Titans (2010). He soon appeared in movies including The Three Musketeers, Immortals and The Raven, establishing himself as a familiar face in large-scale action and period productions. He gained further international recognition as Bard the Bowman in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy, appearing in The Desolation of Smaug and The Battle of the Five Armies. Evans also joined the Fast & Furious franchise as villain Owen Shaw in Fast & Furious 6 (2013). In Dracula Untold (2014), Evans took the leading role of Vlad the Impaler in a new interpretation of the Dracula legend. He later played Gaston opposite Emma Watson in Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast (2017), showcasing both his acting and singing abilities. His other film credits include The Girl on the Train, Professor Marston and the Wonder Women, Murder Mystery and Midway. Alongside his film and television work, Evans has maintained his musical career and released solo albums. From The Hobbit and Fast & Furious to Dracula Untold and Beauty and the Beast, Luke Evans has built a diverse career as one of Wales' most internationally recognised actors.
