Zac Efron

Zac Efron is an American actor, born October 18, 1987, in San Luis Obispo, California, USA. After beginning his career as a young television actor, Efron became an international star through Disney’s hugely successful High School Musical franchise. His breakthrough came when he was cast as Troy Bolton in High School Musical (2006). The film became a pop-culture phenomenon, with Efron returning for High School Musical 2 and the theatrical release of High School Musical 3: Senior Year. Efron successfully moved into mainstream movies with roles in Hairspray, 17 Again, Charlie St. Cloud and The Lucky One. He later showed his comedic talent in films including Neighbours, Dirty Grandpa, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, and Baywatch. In The Greatest Showman (2017), Efron starred alongside Hugh Jackman as Phillip Carlyle, returning to the musical genre in one of the most commercially successful films of his career. He later took on a much darker role portraying serial killer Ted Bundy in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. Efron earned further acclaim for his performance as professional wrestler Kevin Von Erich in The Iron Claw (2023), demonstrating the dramatic range he had developed since his early Disney career. From teen musicals and romantic comedies to drama and major Hollywood productions, Zac Efron has grown from a Disney Channel star into an established, versatile film actor.
