Synopsis
Jonathan White returns to the Queens neighbourhood where he spent part of his childhood. But this time he's wearing a police uniform. Years earlier, when Jonathan was known as “Milk,” his life in the projects became connected to two deaths. The circumstances were buried. Detective Stanford, the former partner of Jonathan's deceased police-officer father, helped prevent the truth from destroying the boy's future. Jonathan grew up. He became a cop himself. He married Kerry and started a family. The past appeared safely contained. Until letters begin arriving. A local journalist, Lauren Bridges, receives anonymous information concerning the long-unsolved killings. Suddenly questions are being asked about a case Jonathan desperately needs to remain forgotten. Worse still, Jonathan finds himself professionally drawn into the very investigation capable of exposing him. Every step closer to the truth places his present life in greater danger. His fellow officers begin looking at the old murders. Lauren continues pursuing the story. And Jonathan's childhood friend Vinnie remains connected to memories Jonathan has spent years trying to suppress. What begins as a cold case gradually becomes something much more dangerous. Jonathan isn't investigating somebody else's crime. He's watching the system he joined move closer and closer to discovering his own secret.
